The Cherskiy Peak is the highest point of the Komarinskiy region in Siberia, not far from Irkutsk city. It is named after the great scientist Ivan Dementievich Cherskiy, famous for his research on Siberia and particularly the Baikal lake. The peak is located 2090 meters above sea level and offers various routes with three tourist camps. It can take about two days to ascend the peak, and the journey is rewarding: the breathtaking views of mountains, valleys, and the clear sky are worth climbing a mountain and wading through lakes and rivers on the way. The route will suit even the inexperienced mountain tourists so that this trip can be a great nature breakaway for the whole family.
