The Peter and Paul Cathedral is the first landmark of Saint Petersburg and its bell tower is the highest Orthodox building in the world. The cathedral served as a church until 1919; in 1924 it became a touristic sight; today it combines functions of a museum and a church; as a tourist, you have a chance to visit religious services that take place regularly.

The place is famous for housing the remains of most Russian emperors, including the most famous Peter the Great and Catherine the Great, and their families. Besides, it has a unique iconostasis and its interior views are splendid.
